Easter run-down: Had a lovely time doing essentially nothing in Tucson, particularly as the SUN was out.  We're having a dreadful & dreary late winter season in San Francisco, so the sunshine was a wonderful change.  The only clouds we saw were the day my sister & I went out riding for a few hours, so that was actually welcome.   Easter was, predictably, celebrated at an ungodly early hour and a lot of fun.  The two year old nephew proceded to find candy, eat candy, run in circles, and pass out at brunch.  Bless his saddle-shoes!

Sebastien Check-in: Sebi proved to be a v. good doggie at the kennels while I was away, and predictably became a favourite with the staff as he can be such an attention whore a sweetie bee.  He did add in a good dose of 'drama queen' as well by throwing himself at my feet and uttering a v. loud ARRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooOOOOooOOO of RELIEF when I came to collect him once I got home.  Only to be fair, since he was in such a sad state when I rescued him from the shelter, he probably was overwhelmed that I came back.  Still - this pup needs a little dignity at times.

Best Line About Pointless Things of the Week: from an Israeil newsman speaking about the birth of the TomKitten to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.  Mr. Cruise released a statement saying the baby's name was 'Suri' which means 'princess' in Hewbrew.  The nationals of Israel were predominantly surprised by this, and this was summed up by the newsman stating "And this week we have learned a new word in Hebrew - from Tom Cruise no less."  Suri is better translated as 'Red Rose' in farsi, it would seem.  Ah well - still beats 'Moses' or 'Apple' any day of the week.

Most Ridiculous Question Posed to Me This Week:  "Aren't you a little old to still be going to Jimmy Buffet shows - especially in the middle of the week?"  Pffffft.

Dr. Who Question: I thought that the daleks were "ex-ter-min-ated" by the Doctor prior to Eccelston.  Have I missed something?  Please help.

Apparently you have, although I'm slightly confused by the phrasing of your question. ;-)

What was it that you thought – that the Daleks were wiped out completely in what the swinging young DW fans (like me) call Old School Who? No, they weren't. There were various attempts to wipe them out, but like any supervillain they kept bouncing back from the grave.

Or have you been watching the New School Who, and assumed that the Ninth Doctor (Eccleston) was correct when he thought all the Daleks had died in the you-never-saw-it-on-TV Time War? He did believe that, but he later finds out that he was wrong...

Who Who? New Who!

This would be a "New School Who" issue, it seems - I was thinking that they had died in the Time War. Clearly, I just need to keep tuning in to the series for an explanation; I thought I had missed something key. Muchas gracias!

Did you get to see Dalek last Friday? That would have answered your questions. If you missed it and want a summary, let me know. :)
