Allow me a Cruel Chuckle...Bwa ha! AH HA!
Nov. 29th, 2006 12:14 pmI am ridiculously pleased over how tightly Noel Gallagher's panties are twisted since Westlife has the #1 spot on the British charts over Oasis. Heh heh heh. Mind, Westlife are pop-crap, but anything to take those idiot Gallaghers cheesed off is good in my rather nasty book. One simply cannot take oneself so damn seriously - especially after selling one's music for TV advertising (Oasis is the main song of an advert campaign in the US and lo, I am so sick of the tune).
For some reason I am in a very good mood today (even if feelin' a bit Slytherin), despite many of my co-workers sulking around here high on the Drama Train. I've had no less than 3 people in here ranting about various things one really shouldn't waste time ranting over. Note to self - don't drink from the cooler, clearly it has been tampered with. I even found Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's 'open letter to the citizens of the Unite States' delightfully amusing. He's stealing Tokyo Rose's schtick! Thanks, Mr. Ahmedinejad; I feel your utter sincerity for my and my family's well-being permeating through my very soul.
We're in final countdown to the "Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses" party now. Even the dogs have tiaras.
I think my good mood is mainly attributable to the fact that I have finally completed the story for the children's book I'm working on, inspired by a dream of Sophie's and written to appeal to her and Nico's sensibilities. "The Pirate in the Chimney" is a rolicking tale of pirates, bears playing hopscotch, pixies eating the laundry soap, and missing treasure. I will now start on the illustrations, so hopefully I will have the draft done by Xmas and can present it to the judges to see if in fact the tale amuses them. It amuses *me* but I'm reading it from the viewpoint of someone who would be forced to read the same book 37 times in a row. Arrr!
Lastly - yay! Almost December! For on Xmas day we get - NEW DOCTOR WHO! Pfft prezies - I want The Doctor! 'Torchwood' is an okay tide-me-over (the best new Sci-Fi of the year is actually the delightful 'Eureka' on the SciFi Channel) although this past weeks was oh-so-weak and frankly I felt sorry for Tosh being made into such a weed. Besides, after the new Doctor it will be 2007...and if images from bookshops putting up signs saying "HARRY POTTER BOOK SEVEN -COMING SOON" are to be taken seriously, I think we will get the last chapter of the Potter saga next year. YES!
